Philadelphia 76ers: 5 Trade Scenarios For Noel/Okafor
Jahlil Okafor to Boston for the 3rd pick in the draft:
This is the most obvious one. The Philadelphia 76ers had reportedly been in talks with the Boston Celtics at the trade deadline involving Okafor and the Nets’ pick, which ultimately turned out to be the 3rd pick in the draft. In what would be a blockbuster deal, Okafor’s past fight history in the city would make for an ironic story. Nonetheless, the Boston Celtics are undoubtedly trying to snag a star, and Okafor could be their guy.
Boston needs to add pieces to elevate their prestige in the East. After making the playoffs and being ousted by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, the Celtics could see Jared Sullinger walk this offseason. Okafor would be a significant addition and maybe even an upgrade from Sullinger.
The Philadelphia 76ers in return get another top 3 pick in the draft. With the team expected to take LSU forward Ben Simmons, they would most likely use the pick to select a guard. Kris Dunn, Jamal Murray, and Buddy Hield are all real possibilities for the Philadelphia 76ers that would hopefully solve the team’s point guard problem. They could even look to power forward Dragan Bender, who may be the best player available in the draft at that point.
The Philadelphia 76ers would be allowed more flexibility in the draft, and could even flip the 3rd pick if a good deal was offered to them come draft night.
