Robin Roberts

Robin Roberts played 20 years in the MLB, 14 of them with the Philadelphia Phillies. Roberts was able to put himself 1st in WAR, 2nd in Wins, and 2nd in strikeouts. Roberts was part of the famed Whiz Kids, and was able to win 20-games in an amazing 6-season span from 1950-1955.

Roberts was part of the greatest team to never win a championship. He also held the league’s most dominant fastball for years. Roberts was able to blow by hitters 1,871 times in his 14 years with the Phillies in a time where the ball was still heavier than today.

Roberts was inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 1976, and into the Phillies Wall of Fame in 1978. Roberts number 36 is also retired by the Phillies. Roberts is 2nd on the list of great pitchers in Phillies history, and could only be outdone by one man.
