5th round (164 overall): Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Offensive Line, TCU

Measurables: 6’6// 320 lbs.

Analysis:

11 picks after Smallwood, the Philadelphia Eagles went back to the offensive line and picked Halapoulivaati Vaitai out of TCU. Vaitai is massive at 6’6 and 320 lbs. With a physical stature such as that, he presents some upside but because he lacks athleticism I see his NFL future on the interior, at guard.

Projection:

Vaitai is extremely raw and will not see the field in 2016 barring injury. He is a project the Philadelphia Eagles can work on to see if they can tap into his potential. He offers limited upside but the potential is there because of his massive frame. If he sees the field in midnight green, look for that to be at either guard position.

GRADE: C

This was a solid depth pick but I would have loved to see the Eagles address the WR position here as there were still some notable names still on the board such as Rashard Higgins and Kolby Listenbee.
