Philadelphia Eagles 2016 Schedule Released: Preview & Predictions
Week Two: Philadelphia Eagles @ Chicago Bears
Monday, September 19, 8:30 PM (ESPN) (MNF)
History: Bears lead all time series 29-12-1; Last Meeting: (2013) 54-11 Eagles
Well it doesn’t take long for the national audience to see the Eagles and Doug Pederson, as the Eagles will travel to Chicago to take on the Bears on prime time Monday Night Football on ESPN.
Story lines
This season for the Bears (6-10 in 2015) will be their first without the ultra dynamic Matt Forte in the backfield as the veteran now calls The New York Jets his home.
Another potentially huge loss for the Bears this season could be former offensive coordinator and new Miami Dolphins head coach, Adam Gase.
Gase was widely considered the mastermind behind the reclamation project of the inconsistent play of Jay Cutler, who despite his flashes, has underwhelmed in a Bears uniform. With Gase gone, could Cutler keep his play up from last year, or does he go back to his inconsistent, turnover-prone self?
We will also see Kevin White, the Bears 2015 7th overall pick for the second time on an NFL field. A WR out of West Virgina University, White missed the entire 2015 season due injury. Even with a much improved Eagles secondary, expect for the combination of Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White to give the Eagle backfield fits the entire game.
Prediction: WIN (2-0)
Expect a very close game, mainly because I expect the duo of White and Jeffery to make a significant impact against the Eagle corner backs. But, the edge goes to the Eagles who as of now, have a slightly better all around team and you never know which Jay Cutler is going to show up from game to game.
