Week One: Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Sunday, September 11, 1:00 (CBS)

History: Browns lead all time series 31-16-1; Last Meeting: (2012) 17-16 Eagles

On the 15th anniversary of September 11th, the Eagles will open their season up when The Cleveland Browns travel to Philadelphia for the season opener.

Story lines

This game will feature a multitude of story lines, as both coaches, Doug Pederson and Hue Jackson, will be making their debuts for their respective teams. Jackson, who previously coached the Oakland Raiders during the 2011 season (8-8) will be looking to make a name for himself in the Ohio city.

The opener for both teams will be the next interaction after the blockbuster trade was made before the draft as Philadelphia and Cleveland swapped picks (among others). Will it be Carson Wentz or Jared Goff on the Eagles roster? Will the browns take Memphis QB Paxton Lynch or will they hope UCLA star Myles Jack falls? We will find out soon enough come April 28th.

Philadelphia fans might also be the first people to witness a familiar foe take place under center as Robert Griffin III looks to resurrect his career with Jackson and company.

Prediction: WIN (1-0)

For the Eagles, and any team for that matter, the game against the Browns should be their easiest contest of the year, as the Browns’s roster purge has somehow made them even worse than their 3-13 season in 2015.

The Eagles should cruise to a victory and open up the 2016 season on a winning note.
