Week Nine: Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants

Sunday, November 6, 1:00 (FOX)

History: Giants lead all time series 84-80-2; Last Two Meetings: (2015) 35-30 Eagles, 27-7 Eagles

After coming off a divisional game against Dallas, the Eagles stay in the division, this time facing off against the Giants on the road in week nine.

Story lines

In recent years, the Eagles have had the Giants number, winning the past four meetings between the two teams, dating back to 2014.

Much like the Eagles a couple seasons back with Andy Reid, the Giants faithful will not see Tom Coughlin as the head coach for the first time in 11 years. In 2016, they will instead see a familiar face, former offensive coordinator and now head coach of the New York football Giants, Ben McAdoo.

Before hiring Pederson, McAdoo was considered by many to be a front runner for the Eagles position before the Giants promoted him to head coach.

It will be interesting to see how the change of offense for the Eagles affects the success against the Giants. Granted, the Giants defense was historically bad last year but, during his tenure, Chip Kelly put up an average of 27.6 points against New York. Will that change with Pederson’s west coast scheme? Who knows, but it’ll be interesting to follow.

Prediction: WIN (5-3)

The Eagles take two in a row against NFC East opponents and continue their dominance over the Giants. Granted, I dont think they nearly put up as much points as they have in recent games against the Giants, due to the fact that New York’s defense has improved with the signings Oliver Vernon and Janoris Jenkins, but there are still many holes in that defense, which is why the Eagles escape with a close win.
