The Philadelphia 76ers didn’t see much success in the 2015-16 season, but they did manage to collect 10 wins involving some interesting plays.

The end of the Philadelphia 76ers is finally finished. The dreadful 10-win season brought little excitement leading into the teams front office turnover, and now the Philadelphia 76ers will look ahead towards an important offseason. Before doing that, however, it’s important to look back at the weirdness that went into all 10 of the team’s wins.

The Philadelphia 76ers just barely avoided the worst record in NBA history set by themselves in 1973, although they now hold claim to the second worst record in an 82-game season as well. There were some bright spots however, including the scoring of rookie Jahlil Okafor, the progression of Jerami Grant and Nik Stauskas throughout the season, and even seeing Elton Brand play like his youthful self for a handful of games.

A long with those positives, the 10 win Sixers gave us some weird plays in their way to their handful of vicrories, and thus, we must reflect on them. Here are weird plays from the 2015-16 Philadelphia 76ers 10 wins.

Win #1: Lakers’ Roy Hibbert goes all “MMA” on Isaiah Canaan

In Kobe Bryant‘s farewell to Philly, the no-win Sixers stole the show. The win was long-awaited and refreshing, and this play may have sparked it all. Isaiah Canaan was doing his best to defend 7-footer Roy Hibbert and ended up fouling him. There was some extra contact after the play and Roy Hibbert gave the NBA its best arm-bar of the season. This was the first time the Philadelphia 76ers showed some passion, and it turned to victory.

Win #2: Robert Covington clips Suns guard Eric Bledsoe

The Philadelphia 76ers pulled out a victory in Phoenix, and the Suns lost more than just the game. They lost their star guard in Eric Bledsoe, who collided with Robert Covington on a screen, for the season. This allowed the Sixers to march past Phoenix, as their main offensive vessel left the court for the final time in 2015-16.

Win #3: Sauce hugs Boogie

The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Sacramento Kings, but Nik Stauskas bear-hugged DeMarcus Cousins and that’s a win for everyone.

Win #4: Jah makes Karl Anthony-Towns ‘Nae Nae’

Jahlil Okafor took it to KAT in the post, and in turn made him do a dance widely called the ‘Nae Nae’.

Win #5: Nicki Minaj amazes Brett Brown

Admittedly, there were no weird or fun plays in this one. The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Portland Trailblazers in standard fashion, but rapper Nicki Minaj was there and this .gif of Brett Brown seemingly in awe of her is amazing.

Win #6: Canaan does an awkward thing…and it works.

This Isaiah Canaan layup in a win over the Orlando Magic sums up his season with the Philadelphia 76ers. It was weird, but sometimes it worked. This Canaan memory should stay with us forever, as it represents his strange season with the team.

Win #7: Richaun Holmes makes old men dance

Carl Landry and Kendall Marshall are young dudes, but were the old heads of the Philadelphia 76ers (until Elton Brand showed up, of course). Here’s Richaun Holmes making them dance after a dunk in a season sweep of the Suns.

Win #8: Nets go all Nets and hand the Philadelphia 76ers the game.

Any game involving the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers this year was not fun. Not fun at all. Here’s a time where the Sixers didn’t look like the most saddening team in the league with this horrendous late-game possession by the Nets.

Win #9: Grant and Covington collide

Late-season injuries were devastating for the Philadelphia 76ers, and a scary collision between Grant and Covington in a win over the Nets sparked the trend. The Sixers pulled out a victory and both players returned later in the season.

Win #10: CANAAN IS THE ANSWER

Ok, he’s not Allen Iverson. Still seeing Canaan work Douglas this way while the team avoids the bad side of history was pretty fun.

Philadelphia 76ers fans can now slumber and enjoy (hopefully) the NBA Draft this summer and see what the new regime brings to the table. The 2015-16 Sixers will hopefully be forever forgotten, and hopefully the future is a lot more promising.
