Jeremy Hellickson is another member of the Philadelphia Phillies who has the potential to impact the team this season.

One of the newest members of the Philadelphia Phillies has already been tabbed as the team’s Opening Day starter. Jeremy Hellickson is a very important player to the success of the Philadephia Phillies. Now that he is fully healthy Hellickson needs to have a bounce-back season for the Phillies (stop me if you’ve heard this one before) to raise his value.

Intangibly, Hellickson is important to the development of Aaron Nola (also mentioned on this list) and Jerad Eickhoff (One of the players who will show if the Cole Hamels trade was good or not). Hellickson has had the experience of being a rising young pitcher on a bad pitching staff when he was with the Rays, and that’s a good experience to relay to the Phillies young arms.

Hellickson’s true importance will be realized at the trade deadline. If he is cruising along and posts solid numbers in the first half, expect the Philadelphia Phillies to be open to all offers to re-stock the farm system.

The Phillies are building for the future and currently have a much-improved farm but it can always use reinforcements. Hellickson is one of the Phillies most tradable assets at this time and they should be open to fielding offers when the time comes.
