Pass Catchers

Grade: B-

One of the most disappointing parts of Kelly’s tenure as Eagles’ head coach was his inability to ever help Zach Ertz go from being a very good tight-end to being an elite tight-end. Though Ertz began to heat up throughout the last few week’s of Kelly’s reign, he may have put together his best game to date this afternoon when he hauled in nine catches for 152 yards.

Ertz is in a contract year next year, so there’s little doubt he’ll come into 2015 looking to have his first 1,000 yards season. Sean Payton or Hue Jackson, both of whom could be of interest in the Eagles’ coaching search, could help him to achieve that goal.

The rest of the unit was held in check, with Jordan Matthews proving to be the only other receiver on the team with over 50 yards receiving.

Nelson Agholor, Riley Cooper and Josh Huff combined for just two catches and 23 yards, all of which were Agholor’s. It’s fair to wonder if today was Cooper’s last game in Philadelphia, and how many of the team’s pass catchers will be back next season.
