1. What else?

This morning, I watched the ‘Miracle at the new Meadowlands’ for the first time since DeSean Jackson had become a former Eagle. Not only was it the first time since DeSean had become a former Eagle, but since Michael Vick (who was largely responsible for the comeback), had left the team to sign with the New York Jets. It almost felt like I was closing the chapter on an era in Eagles history, even though guys like Riley Cooper, Jeremy Maclin, and LeSean McCoy were still members of that team.

My hope is that the Eagles bury this play for a few years, but don’t forget about it. In 10 or 15 years when I have children, I want them to know this play, and the significance that it had. I think for the Eagles not to use it in future #FlyEaglesFly videos would be a mistake, because it is one of the greatest moments in franchise history.

In many regards this play represented everything about DeSean Jackon’s time in Philly–both positive and negative. From the gesturing for attention, to dropping the punt, to an insane run through Giants’ defenders, and raising the ball up, before an unnecessary run across the goal-line and firing the ball into the stands. I wouldn’t change a thing about this play.

While DeSean didn’t leave on good terms, I want to thank him for his time in Philly. He certainly pissed me off more than his fair share of times, but he also provided some of my best Eagles memories over the course of the last six years.
