Selection: Eagles
It’s well documented that Chip Kelly doesn’t like recruiting. He has been quoted saying he hated his schedule while at Oregon, having to travel constantly while recruiting players following the end of the season.
In addition to his hatred for recruiting, coaching in the NFL allows him to focus solely on football. He has personnel authority, in addition to being the head coach, so he can build the team to his liking, without having to worry about all the events that a college coach must partake in.
Chip Kelly may return to college eventually, but I don’t see it happening at the end of this season. He has a talented roster in Philly, and is just a few pieces away from turning this team into a serious Super Bowl contender.
Will Chip go to USC? Even if this season goes poorly, I seriously doubt it. He’s not the type of guy to give up on a challenge so easily. He once said, “We’re from Philadelphia and we fight,” and I think that got lost within the Eagles’ unsettling start to this season and people forget about the competitor that Chip truly is.
