The Eagles wrapped up their exhibition schedule Thursday night, failing to complete the perfect preseason as they fell (update score) to the New York Jets. As the city tries to get over the disappointment of another missed milestone, the focus shifts to the regular season. The Eagles will finalize their preseason roster on Saturday. Those on the fringe of making that cut had their last chance to make an impression on the coaching staff against the Jets. For better or for worse, some difficult decisions will have to be made when the dust ultimately is settled.

With the majority of the team’s projected starters on the sidelines, several potential depth and special teams fixtures made up the majority of the Eagles’ gameday roster. Save for Kiko Alonso, Eric Rowe and Josh Huff, both looking to get in some extra work before the regular season opener, most of the players donning the Philadelphia uniforms were fighting for their football lives, so to speak. Despite this being the case, there were still some meaningful takeaways from the game that project towards how the Eagles will look on the field when the games count.
