Matt Barkley

Drive One

  • Barkley did little to help himself from the get-go, throwing an interception on his first pass. If you wanted to see a throw that demonstrates a lack of arm strength and NFL touch, this would be one that you would point at.

Drive Two

  • Following three runs to start the second drive, Barkley overthrew an open Trey Burton on what should have been a fairly simple throw.
  • The next play, Barkley overthrew Burton again, on another throw that he should have made.
  • In a clear attempt to save his non-existent trade value, Kelly had Barkley and company go for it on fourth and eight. This time, Barkley hit Burton for a first down.
  • The drive ended in a field-goal, after Raheem Mostert slipped and was only able to regain his balance enough to get inside the five yard line.
