Jimmy Rollins Traded: Top Five Moments With The Phillies
By Tim Kelly
3. Jimmy Rollins’ completion of 20/20/20/20 seals MVP season, NL East crown
In game 162, a Jimmy Rollins triple helped to seal his MVP season and the Phillies first playoff appearance since 1993.
While Curtis Granderson of the Tigers also reached the milestone in 2007, Jimmy Rollins game 162 triple against the Nationals made him just the fourth player in the MLB history to hit 20 homeruns in a season while accumulating 20 stolen bases, 20 doubles and 20 triples.
Rollins joined the aforementioned Granderson, Willie Mays and Frank Schulte as the only members of the club. Since 2007, no new members have joined the club.
Rollins’ triple also turned out to be the icing on the cake for the Phillies comeback to win the NL East and his MVP campaign.
