Note: With Jimmy Rollins making his return to Philadelphia tonight, this article from December 13, 2014 is being re-shared.

While the final details of the trade are still being worked out, Philadelphia woke up yesterday morning and for the first time this millennium, Jimmy Rollins was no longer a member of the Phillies organization. Regardless of where you stand on Rollins’ hall of fame candidacy or how you’ve felt about some of the tendencies he’s developed over the past few seasons, his place in Phillies history is undeniable.

Rollins leaves the Phillies with the most hits in franchise history, having won four gold gloves, a stolen base title, a silver slugger award, a league MVP, two national league pennants, and most importantly, a World Series title. He’s the greatest shortstop in franchise history and one of the top ten players to ever rock the red pinstripes.

The funny thing is that the organization seemingly felt for years that if Rollins didn’t finish his career in Philadelphia, his legacy would somehow be tainted. On the contrary, I woke up Thursday morning and remembered the fondest moments of Rollins’ time here, which made me appreciate what an incredible run that J-Roll had.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the top five moments of Jimmy Rollins’ Phillies career.
