Brent Celek will hang up the cleats sooner or later. When that does occur, the Eagles will be left with a significant need of a block-first tight end option. Despite Zach Ertz putting in as much work as possible to refine that area of his game, it is clear Chip Kelly requires a high-end blocking tight end to execute his scheme. Though James does not have the offensive capabilities of Celek, he did make some big catches for the Nittany Lionns in 2014 and will have no issues taking up Celek’s mantle as the primary blocking tight end for the Eagles.
