Wide Receiver. Southern California. Nelson Agholor. 26. player. 26. Ozzie Newsome has never been one to draft for need. He is the quintessential ‘best player available’ general manager and he has risen to the tops of the executive ranks by sticking to this mantra. In this instance, Newsome is fortunate enough that this player checks both boxes. Agholor has been one of the buzz names that has popped up in recent weeks and those who have dug into his tape more and more are starting to see why. Lost in USC’s long road back to prominence, Agholor was one of the best receivers in college football last season. His natural ability as a pass-catcher to go along with return abilities, an area of need now with Jacoby Jones off the roster, make him a prime candidate for an early NFL contributor. Agholor has drawn comparisons to Kansas City’s Jeremy Maclin and it’d be hard for any team to pass up on that type of player. By the time the draft actually arrives, Agholor could even be seen in the same group as Kevin White, Amari Cooper, and DeVante Parker. For now, Baltimore is happy to have him fall right into their laps.
