Cornerback. Wake Forest. Kevin Johnson. 16. player. 10. Given the fact that their quarterback of the future won’t be available at this selection, the Texans instead continue to focus on defense and select Wake Forest’s Kevin Johnson. Much like Peters, Johnson displays natural ability at cornerback that has seen him steadily climb draft boards since he was initially slated as a fringe first rounder. Given the fact that they play Andrew Luck twice a season, and struggle mightily I may add, Houston continues to stock up on players capable of making the former 1st overall pick’s life miserable. With all of the focus on measurables and athleticism with cornerbacks these days, there’s something to be said for a player who is just naturally gifted at the position. Johnson falls more into that category than most of his peers in the draft class. This defense could be all sorts of scary if Jadeveon Clowney ever gets right.
