Analyzing “The Sanchize”: Mark Sanchez Performs Well in Eagles Win Over Giants
By Tim Kelly
Fourth Quarter
- The Eagles first drive of the fourth, began in the last minute of the third, and boy, it was electric. The drive started out with a 21 yard rush from LeSean McCoy and finished with a touchdown run from Chris Polk. In between, Jordan Matthews went over 100 yards receiving, including a slant route from Sanchez that brought the Eagles down to the one yard-line.
- On the next drive, Sanchez missed Jeremy Maclin on a deep ball into the endzone.
- So instead of a Maclin touchdown to seemingly end the game, the Eagles had to settle for a Cody Parkey field-goal.
- On a series that will likely only go down to be remembered by LeSean McCoy’s injury, a Chris Polk run fell just short of making up for Mark Sanchez getting sacked inside the five yard-line. The eagles punted the ball back to the Giants with a chance to tie the game.
- Fortunately, a Nate Allen pick of a back-foot throw from Eli Manning sealed the deal for the Eagles win.
