Five things I’ve learned about the Eagles after five games

3. The Eagles secondary really isn’t playing well
Sep 28, 2014; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree (15) catches the ball against Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cary Williams (26) during the fourth quarter at Levi
Cary Williams isn’t exactly Mr. Popular in Philly right now. While their may be some credence to him saying that the defense is tired, he has gotten torched this year. But it isn’t just him.
Last season we were all presently surprised by how proficient of a duo that Williams and Bradley Fletcher were, allowing the Eagles to hold off on taking a corner in the draft for another year. Perhaps that was a mistake. Fletcher was slightly better than Williams in 2013 in my estimation, but has been far worse in 2014. Here’s to hoping that Ifo Ekpre does something stupid and falls in the draft, because one of these two–if not both–won’t be back next year.
Malcolm Jenkins has been the bright spot in the secondary, and I’d like to see Earl Wolff get a shot across from him because all of the talk about how much better of a player Nate Allen is than he was a couple of year’s ago, isn’t exactly showing up on the field.
