Anyway you slice it, after five games, the Eagles are 4-1. That’s what Chip Kelly told me to say. Frankly, when I looked at the Eagles’ schedule prior to the season, I would have been overjoyed to come out of the first five games with four wins. But after watching the first five games, injuries and an inability to make things easy on themselves have made for five gut-wrenching Sundays.
So with that in mind, here–in no particular order–are five things that I’ve learned about the 2014 Eagles through their first five games. Keep in mind, I had the Eagles pegged at a 9-7 record coming into the season, so these first five games might not have scared me as much as someone who had the fantasy idea of the Eagles making a Superbowl run in 2014 in their head.
Oh, and were in the midst of week two of serious over-analyzation of Nick Foles and Chip Kelly, so these notes won’t be directly related to either them.
