2 Key Eagles Miss First NFC Championship Practice
By Jovan Alford
The Philadelphia Eagles are one step away from reaching the Super Bowl, as on Sunday, they will play the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game. The Eagles are looking to take down the hottest team in the playoffs, the Washington Commanders, who have pulled off back-to-back upset wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions.
Philadelphia understands what’s at stake and knows how good the Commanders are, having faced them twice during the regular season. Heading into Sunday’s game, Eagles fans were concerned about the injury statuses of Jalen Hurts and Quinyon Mitchell, who sustained injuries in the divisional round.
However, Hurts and Mitchell should play this weekend and were listed as limited participants at Wednesday’s practice, which was a walkthrough. There were two notable DNPs on the injury report, which caught the attention of Eagles fans.
Eagles News: Dallas Goedert, Cam Jurgens Given DNPs at Wednesday's Walkthrough
According to ESPN’s Tim McManus, tight end Dallas Goedert (ankle) and center Cam Jurgens (back) were listed as DNPs. Since this was a walkthrough, fans should not panic about whether these two guys will play.
Goedert and Jurgens were on the injury report ahead of last Sunday’s divisional round game against the Los Angeles Rams. The veteran tight end was dealing with an illness, forcing him to miss one day of practice.
Meanwhile, Jurgens missed the first day of practice for rest but was a full participant for the next two days. Therefore, the Eagles hope Goedert and Jurgens will be upgraded to limited or full on Thursday.
Philadelphia will practice at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday starting at 2:25 p.m. ET, which will be open during warmups and individual drills only. Then on Friday, the Eagles will have their second-straight practice at the Linc.
