Sixers legend Allen Iverson was asked about his favorite Notorious B.I.G. line, and he delivered a great answer.

Allen Iverson was more than just an iconic figure in basketball. He was the most revolutionary style icon in the world of sports. Everyone grew up wanting headbands and shooting sleeves to mimic their favorite player in the game. It was easy to fall in love with Iverson, as he seemed to exceed his small frame on a nightly basis while boasting an attitude as big as one can be.

He was one of the most unforgettable to step on the court, and his legend lives on even today. Every year we hear his “Practice” rant at least once, and his step-over on Tyronn Lue in the 2001 NBA Finals has become an internet meme. Point is, Allen Iverson is as popular as a basketball player could be without being named Michael Jordan.

16 Wins A Ring’s Brandon Robinson, also known as Scoop B, had the chance to ask him some questions right around the anniversary of rapper Biggie Small’s death. Robinson asked Iverson about the slain rapper, and Iverson responded by saying “he’s the best, he’s the best ever.”

He then went on to name his favorite Biggie rap verse, quoting the hard hitting song “Young G’s”. Iverson goes on to rap the verse with a smile on his face, saying “Flipped two ki’s in two weeks and didn’t flaunt it. My brain is haunted, with mean dreams. GS’s with BB’s on it, supreme schemes. To get richer than Richie, quickly.”

I don’t know about you, but I’d pay money to see Iverson rap in any sort of setting. He also went on  to claim his love for Michael Jackson‘s music as well. You can watch a clip from the interview below.

As the former iconic baller pays his homage to the best to ever come through the rap game, let’s not forget his own rap career! “Jewels” as Allen Iverson went by, had a couple of tracks on his own. In his song 40 Bars, he dropped “Remains are found when the best kept secret get heated. You went platinum with a ghost writer. So in the game you won you cheated. My slang bang when you need it.”

Ok, so his basketball career was far more illustrious than his rap career. But AI has become such an important figure in the world of hip-hop that his opinions on these matters carry some weight. Allen Iverson has cemented his place as one of the most beloved athletes in the history of Philadelphia sports, and one of the most beloved figures in NBA history.
