The biggest issue that I have when I read other people’s power rankings are that they get too reactionary over one game. If you remember just a few weeks ago, people had the Bills in their top five. Two weeks later, and the Bills are switching quarterbacks in a desperate attempt to try to remain relevant in what appears to be a wide-open AFC East.

Last week, many people had the Eagles higher than the Seahawks and Broncos, solely based off of the fact that they were undefeated. Many of those same people will drop the Eagles near the bottom of their top ten in power rankings, but had they gained one more yard in the fourth quarter against the 49ers, would have them at number one. #logic

I’m not going to overreact the same way that those people do, because I’d like to think that my weekly top ten combines the best teams in the NFL right now, but gives credit to the teams with serious staying power rather than being a prisoner of the moment.
