With how secretive and low-key Sam Hinkie goes about his business, one has to wonder how many years 3rd overall pick Joel Embiid has shaved off of his general manager’s life in a matter of two months. Embiid’s blissful ignorance of some of the societal norms that define today’s world for professional athletes has served as a refreshing replacement for the time on the court we will be unable to see the Cameroonian product in 2014-2015. Never the less, there has been nothing to say that the organization is unhappy with how their lottery pick is going about his early professional career. In fact, in a conference call on Tuesday, Hinkie even said he’d be happy if Embiid took the time to run an a Twitter account for his new general manager.
Embiid’s latest unique foray onto the social medium was something one would have to be certain the organization would have preferred he wait for. Early Tuesday evening, accompanied by photographic evidence, Embiid Tweeted the following breaking news.
Officially signed my NBA contract today… I’m BLESSED!!!! The American Dream “Coming to America” pic.twitter.com/SYa5i4uAUc

With no formal announcement by the team having been made, one has to base the figures for Embiid’s contract off of the pay scale that has accompanied the 2014 Draft. He will make just a shade under $3.7 million and represents the final signing of the increasingly unique class of this June’s draft.
Unless Embiid is pulling the ultimate hoax and has a strong hook-up of NBA-sponsored stationary, one would think the team would make a formal announcement in the near future.
