LeSean McCoy's X-rays on thumb are negative

After scoring a touchdown on the Eagles’ second drive of their preseason tilt with the Pittsburgh Steelers, LeSean McCoy has exited the game with a thumb injury. It’s unclear exactly which play that McCoy was injured on, but it didn’t seem to be the one that he scored on.

According to Dave Spadaro of Eagles.com, McCoy is in the process of having his thumb X-rayed. Don’t expect to see Shady again tonight.

Update 8:21 PM EST: McCoy is officially out for the game. Glad I can be the one to provide you with that completely unobvious news. Jeff McLane says McCoy is back on the sideline getting his hand taped, which you would think means he doesn’t have a serious hand injury, but that’s just speculation.

Update 9:05 PM EST: We’re two for two tonight. Injuries aren’t ideal, but seeing McCoy and Jeremy Maclin both avoid injuries, saved this from being a really disastrous night.

Stay tuned as updates pour in…..
