LeSean McCoy to Grace Cover of Sports Illustrated

As high as the expectations are for the Philadelphia Eagles as a team, they might be even higher for running back LeSean McCoy. After a career season which saw the 26-year-old capture the NFL’s rushing title and break the Eagles franchise record in rush yards for a season with 1,607, many figure ‘Shady’ to pick up right where he left off for 2014.

McCoy might be the biggest star in Philadelphia (though one could make an argument for his coach, Chip Kelly). His stardom is not limited to the area, however. Sports Illustrated announced earlier Wednesday that LeSean McCoy would be on the cover of one of its four ‘Fantasy Football’-themed covers expected to hit newsstands later this week.

Considering SI does not carry the same curse as the Madden Cover, this is a pretty awesome honor for Shady. He appears to be on the cusp of establishing himself as the clear-cut best running back in the league. Not only will he be one of the best Fantasy options in the NFL, but he should be the driving force for one of the league’s best offenses.
