As the NFL season approaches, I can’t tell you that I am even going to remotely miss writing stories about DeSean Jackson doing stupid things on Instagram and Twitter. I also can’t sit here and tell you I don’t dream about him in Chip Kelly’s offense with Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper, Jordan Matthews, Zach Ertz, Brent Celek, LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.
But since that isn’t going to happen, I’m content with the offensive weaponry that surrounds Nick Foles, and I’ve moved forward.
It doesn’t sound like DeSean has moved forward, despite the fact that he has latched on with another NFC East contender.
Redskins fans don’t ever boo their own?
That was just the first available video. I watch every single NFC East game, obviously not live, but I use NFL Rewind. So I seem to remember a fair share of boos reigning down at Fed Ex Field last year over the Redskins’ performance last year, which was obviously deserved, but it was still Washington booing their own players.
And I’m struggling to think of another time when Philly booed an Eagle, or the team collectively, when they weren’t deserving. If Jackson really had that much of a problem with the booing, why did he ever sign his original extension here?
Another note worth passing along, is that as much as we all knew DeSean had an annoyance factor, this fanbase was largely in his corner during the release rumors and after they became a reality. A majority of the fanbase never wanted anything to do with DeSean going, and is still waiting for an exact answer as to why he was released.
I think any fan with class was planning not to boo Jackson when he returns week three, but egging Philly fans, or any fans, on like this, isn’t usually a good thing.
