Earlier this week, we wrote about the physical strides taken by Flyers 2013 1st round pick Sam Morin. The imposing defenseman, in just a year, has transformed from a lanky, boyish teenager to an imposing figure expected to anchor a promising Philadelphia blue line in the coming years. One of Morin’s most impressive and valuable assets is a howitzer of a slapshot that, when accurate, could be a lethal weapon that has been missing from the Flyers since the untimely end to Chris Pronger’s career.
As the team is continuing their player development camp, some of their top prospects have gotten a chance to show off their top qualities. Saturday morning, Morin apparently unleashed a shot that shattered the glass and required a practice stoppage and clean-up at the Voorhees Skate Zone. Courtesy of Bob Rotruck, broadcaster for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, here is a photo of Morin’s best Happy Gilmore impersonation.

Here’s to hoping Morin screamed, ‘Is that goal regulation size or what?!’ in a French-Canadian accent. Pretty impressive stuff from the now-19-year-old defenseman prospect.
