Joel Embiid guarentees the Sixers win the 2015-16 NBA Finals

For the past few weeks, Sixers’ draft-pick Joel Embiid half-heartedly tried to recruit LeBron James to Philly, regardless of how unlikely it seemed. After news broke this morning that James was headed back to Cleveland, an upset Embiid took to Twitter.

He also had jokes.

Embiid also lobbied for the Cavs not to trade his college teammate Andrew Wiggins to the Timberwolves in a reported Kevin Love deal and pondered whether the Cavs fans really deserved the best player on the planet.

Much more to interest of Sixers’ fans, was this tweet.

This says A LOT about Embiid and the Sixers’ plans.

First, it pretty much tells me that Embiid knows he isn’t going to play next season.

Secondly, I think it displays that the Sixers have some of their core players (Embiid, Michael Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel) on board with a plan of sucking for one more season, and then beginning to start to move forward in 2015-16. A championship might be a bit far.

Oh, and Brett Brown’s Spurs’ connections are alive and well in the Sixers’ organization, which I’m perfectly cool with, especially if it produces some parades.
