Last week, former 76er Spencer Hawes agreed to a four-year/$32 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, much to the chagrin of the Sixers’ fanbase.
I wasn’t necessarily bothered by the move, because I understand that on a contender, Hawes is a solid bench piece. Does it pain me to see him get eight million a year? Yeah, but his ability to shoot the three and the fact that he has some playoff experience, make him an intriguing piece to a team that only seems a piece or two away from a title.
What did annoy me, was this tweet. I know it was in good-hearted fun, but I saw this while I was on vacation last week and was trying to tune sports out, and it pissed me off.
Hey @blakegriffin32 you know 32 is my number you wanna arm wrestle for it or something?

Now that you are a bench piece Spencer, it’s time to tune the All-American act out. You are an expensive bench-player now. Maybe instead of worrying about your number, you could develop some sort of a post-game?
