Joel Embiid’s Recruitment of LeBron James to Philadelphia was Totes Adorbs

76ers 3rd overall pick Joel Embiid is pretty difficult to understand when he talks. I highly recommend giving a listen to the conference call provided by the team’s website. Fortunately, the Cameroonian big man’s Twitter game is light years ahead of his ability to speak with reporters. His handle, @JoelEmbiid, can provide endless entertainment when it comes to Soccer commentary, motivational sayings, or just pictures of himself. Homerism aside, Embiid is the type of player that it’s difficult not to root for. On talent alone, he is a joy to watch. That said, it is perhaps his blissful ignorance and authentic approach to life that is so refreshing in today’s world of athletes caring more about their celebrity status.

Interjecting in his coverage of the World Cup, Embiid decided to take Sam Hinkie’s job into his own hands and pitch the most sought-out free agent in sports history to join him in the city of Brotherly Love. I mean, how could LeBron James say no to this?

Subtle, Jo…very subtle. Seriously, if I were Sam Hinkie, I would include a personalized Tweet and perhaps even face-to-face visit to seal the deal with any potential acquisition. The man has more charm in his recovering Navicular bone than Hinkie has in his entire body. Between Embiid’s irresistibility and Hinkie’s negotiation skills, we could construct a dynasty-caliber squad before the Kansas product steps on an NBA court.
