Eagles’ right-tackle Lane Johnson hasn’t exactly made headlines for positive reasons this off-season. Earlier this off-season, he tweeted the Eagles’ team dinner bill, which totaled over $17K, which tends to piss us everyday people off. Then again, it’s his money, so he can do with it what he chooses.
But apparently, expensive dinners weren’t the only things Johnson was buying this off-season.
League sources tell me Eagles starting RT Lane Johnson has tested positive for PEDs and will miss first 4 games.

Obviously we’ll wait and see exactly what Johnson tested positive for, but for last year’s number four overall pick-who started slow but had a strong finish to the season-to fail this, is disappointing to say the least.
This news makes the Allen Barbre extension, which occurred earlier this off-season, very interesting. Barbre wasn’t scheduled to be a free-agent this off-season, but the Eagles locked up their sixth offensive lineman to a three-year extension, making me wonder if today’s news isn’t old news to those at Novacare. Either way, Barbre will likely slide into Johnson’s spot for the first four games of the 2014 season.
