It’s been fun to watch the growing rivalry between ESPN’s Chad Ford and Yahoo!’s Adrian Wojnarowski over the past week as draft rumors have unfolded. The rivalry will only gain more steam, after Ford called the Sixers’ reported interest in Joel Embiid ‘a smokescreen’, which Woj doesn’t seem to be buying.
Philadelphia is still working on a final decision at No. 3, but Joel Embiid has a tremendous chance to be selected there,

It is possible, that the Sixers’ interest was a smokescreen. Now that we have passed the two o’clock deadline that locks the Cavs into making the first selection, maybe the Sixers take Embiid, and package him and whoever the Sixers take at the tenth pick with Thad Young or another second-round selection, to acquire the rights to Wiggins. Or maybe the Sixers do want to take the Embiid risk.
I’d still tend to think that Dante Exum will be the Sixers’ selection at the third pick, but if Embiid is taken with the third pick, my guess is that he will be moved to Cleveland in a Wiggins trade.
