VIDEO: Ruben Amaro Jr.'s Neverending Tenure & Its Irreversible Damage

Hey! Ruben Amaro Jr. is still the Phillies General Manager and, with the team 6.5 games back in one of the worst divisions in sports, probably thinks he’s doing a great job. Do we have any reason to think the organization isn’t convinced of the same thing? Not really. Despite their performance on the field, the team has a few viable trade chips that, if the front office FINALLY is willing to part with, could bring in some much needed youth and help reset a floundering franchise in a new direction. Just a few thoughts on the matter, courtesy of yours truly.

If nothing else, it does sound like Ruben Amaro Jr. is ready to potentially start shopping some of the team’s players. Problem is, he doesn’t necessarily have the best track record as far as bringing back adequate value. Is a few months of Pat Gillick back in charge a pipe dream? Maybe. One can only dream, I suppose.
