Last night, a Pittsburgh Tribune report indicated that the Philadelphia Flyers were in an in-state battle with the Pittsburgh Penguins to acquire Vancouver Canucks center Ryan Kesler.
As the trade-window comes to a close and we approach the 3:00 league-wide trade deadline, it appears that the Flyers are out on Kesler.
Renaud Lavoie of TV Sports Montreal is reporting that the Flyers are out on any reported deal.
“Flyers are out of the Ryan Kesler derby.”
Things can change prior to the deadline, but speculation is that the Flyers were only talking to the Canucks in an attempt to either block the Penguins from acquiring him, or drive his price up higher.
