The Sixers enter the All-Star break on a historically bad eight game losing-streak, that can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at the idea of tanking. Perhaps the only thing that can be looked at positively from the first half of a season that saw the Sixers go 15-39, has been how Michael Carter-Williams has gone from the 11th pick, to a clear rookie of the year favorite, leading Sixers fans to think that there is light at the end of the tunnel. ‘
The NBA has recognized Carter-Williams early career success, leading to him being chosen to be in tonight’s BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge, which will feature the likes of Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis, and some of the best first and second year players in the league, facing each other on teams selected by Chris Webber and Grant Hill.
Regardless of how MCW performs in tonight’s Rising Stars Challenege, or Saturday’s Taco Bell Skill’s Challenge, he will be wearing some sick custom Nike shoes.

Props to MCW for going with some original shoes, rather than a pair of Kobe’s or LeBron’s. Soon enough, one would think some brand will be paying him to wear their shoes.
You can watch Carter-Williams in the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge tonight at 9 P.M. on TNT and tomorrow in the Taco Bell Skill’s Challenge with coverage beginning at 8:30 on TNT.
