While the city of Philadelphia was busy celebrating a Riley Cooper touchdown against the Saints (nearly two weeks ago) that gave the Eagles their first touchdown in the postseason in nearly three seasons, singer John Legend chose to remember Cooper’s offseason drama.

What Legend is referring to, is the video that surfaced during Eagles’ training camp, of an obviously intoxicated Cooper saying that he would fight any African-American security guards to get backstage at a Kenny Chesney concert, but referring to them as the n-word.

Cooper’s apology, and a career-year on the field, put the incident in the past for many football fans. Apparently Legend and his wife Chrissy, weren’t as forgiving of Cooper, as TMZ caught up with them today, to discuss Legend’s disdain for Cooper, and his wife pretty much took over the interview.

While I enjoyed watching a breakout season from Cooper, I certainly haven’t forgotten what he has said. Frankly, I think all the white people discussing how he has already put the incident behind him, are speaking out of place. He used a disgusting word, that calling offensive just simply doesn’t put into context how awful of a word it is. I’ve moved on from the incident as a white, person, but certainly haven’t forgotten. It offended me because I see everyone as equal. Legend, who is African-American, and his wife Chrissy, who is white, certainly have every reason to still hold a grudge against Cooper.
