The Sixers official Twitter account has confirmed reports that the team has waived center Daniel Orton.

ESPN’s Marc Stein first reported the deal (tweet), citing that the Sixers would have had to guarantee Orton’s deal for the remainder of the season if he was on the roster at 5 P.M. EST.

Orton averaged three PPG this season, while picking up nearly three rebounds a contest, in 11.4 MPG. It was his first season in Philadelphia.

    76ers Plan for 2014-2015 Season…

sixers will be verrryyy good next year.. bet…

We keep the following 5 players, possibly #6 (depending on if we can get a better deal with trading him..)
    1. Michael Carter-Williams (all-star by next year)
    2. Nerleans Noel
    3. Thad Young
    4. Tony Wrotten
    5. James Anderson
    6. (maybe) Spencer Hawes

Draft a SF (hopefully Wiggins) with our top5 pick
Draft a PF or C with our top 10 pick (the one we got from the Jrue trade)
Sign an all star SG/SF with all our money for Free Agency…
Also sign a decent Center to either start ahead of or back up Noel (depending on if he is ready to be our All-Star Center yet, in just his rookie year)

    PG: Michael Carter-Williams
SG: The All-Star SG we sign in Free Agency
    SF: Andrew Wiggins!
    PF: Thad Young
    C: Nearlens Noell

(SG/PG) Tony Wrotten, (SG) James Anderson, (PF/C) Spencer Hawes, our (PF/C) we got with our top 10 pick from the Jrue Trade coming off the bench… along with 3 random fillers (True PG, True SF & a True Center) thats a great starting line-up and great 12 player depth for our roster…

you figure the players like wiggins, thad young, tony wrotten, spencer hawes, and even noell can all play 2 or more different positions… it will be very interesting to see what shooting guard and center we get with either our top10 draft pick/ top player we sign in free agency
