For the second entry in Section215.com’s year in review, we take a look back at some of the most notable, successful transactions in Philadelphia sports over the 2013 calendar year. Between the Flyers, Phillies, Sixers, and Eagles the four major teams in the area have had their fair share of difficult decisions to make regarding current players and ways to improve their respective rosters. Some of the moves have blown up in the team’s faces (looking at you RAJ, Delmon Young? Really?), some smaller moves have proved to help the teams more than they thought (Flyers trading for Steve Downie and 76ers acquiring Tony Wroten). Still, there were moves made by Philadelphia teams that have helped alter the direction of the franchise in both the short and long-term. Whether it was a trade, free agent signing, or even addition by subtraction members of front offices around the city took major risks and now appear to be reaping the benefits.
