Reports surfaced yesterday that the Philadelphia Phillies were “actively shopping” slugger Domonic Brown at the MLB winter meetings. This afternoon, ESPN’s Jayson Stark reported that not only are the Phillies not really looking to trade Brown, but they would expect a huge return to move him.

This seems a bit more accurate than the idea that the Phillies would be looking to trade a guy that was their best overall hitter last year. The Phillies will pick up the phone on a Brown trade proposal, but don’t expect him to be moved at the winter meetings.
