Remember when the Eagles signed Isaac Sopoaga this past off-season and upon introduction Sopoaga said that the Eagles would, “shock the world”. Ah, those were the days.

Just eight games into a three-year deal and the Eagles traded the veteran defensive tackle to the New England Patriots for a fifth-round pick in next year’s draft today. The Eagles also sent a sixth-round pick the Patriots way, likely convincing the Patriots to take on the 7.7 million that Sopoaga is owed over the next two and a half seasons.

In eight games in midnight green, Sopoaga had rattled off 18 total tackles, and his veteran influence likely left a lasting mark on rookie Bennie Logan, who now moves up to number one on the Birds depth-chart at defensive tackle.
