The Philadelphia Eagles will welcome in the Dallas Cowboys to Lincoln Financial Field tomorrow afternoon with the NFC East division lead on the line. Sure, it’s only week seven and the NFC East might be the weakest division in the entire NFL, but given how far the Eagles fell in 2011 and 2012, even being in this situation feels pretty damn good.
Nick Foles will get the start for the Eagles with Michael Vick still out due to a hamstring injury and potentially a chance to seize the starting job for good with a strong performance.
This will be Foles second start of the 2013 season, and thus far he has equaled his win total from his seven starts last year with one win. Grant it Foles was playing with an offensive line that featured many guys who are currently on the street and a depleted team that had given up on Andy Reid and the 2012 season, but Foles team success was limited in 2012 as he lost six of his seven starts, including two to the Dallas Cowboys.
Then again, if you go back to the box scores from Foles two starts against the Cowboys, he wasn’t terrible. Foles tossed a combined two touchdowns to one interception, and threw for a combined 470 yards. Those numbers don’t blow you away, but they certainly aren’t bad. Somehow I think that having Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Kurt Coleman in the secondary might have had a little to do with Foles going 0-2 to the Cowboys. Just taking a guess though.
Can Foles get his first win against the Cowboys and give the Eagles sole possession of the NFC East lead? Or will the Eagles fall and turn back to Michael Vick at Quarterback next week? Below is all the information on where to watch or listen to the game to find out the answers to those and many other burning questions on the ‘Birds.
