For many players on the Eagles roster, Saturday was the final time they will ever suit up for an NFL game, with roster cuts looming. Here are the important dates to remember for roster cuts.
- Tuesday August, 27th at 4 P.M. EST-Prior to the Eagles fourth and final pre-season game Thursday, they will be forced to trim their roster down from the 90 players currently on the roster, to 75.
- Saturday August, 31st at 6 P.M. EST-The Eagles will get one final look at players on the bubble in Thursday’s tilt against the New York Jets, before having to cut 22 more players prior to 6 P.M. Saturday night. This will cut their roster down to 53 players, which is the amount of players required to be on the roster for gameday.
The Eagles have already parted ways with veterans Jamar Chaney and Kenny Phillips, while Clay Harbor, Vinny Curry, Brandon Graham, and Nate Allen are among the players who are considered “on the bubble” as cuts loom. Their future with the Eagles will be crystal clear at this time next week.
