After leading an Eagles offensive clinic through the first two weeks of the pre-season, Chip Kelly has officially named Michael Vick the Eagles starting quarterback for the 2013 season.

So after all the questions, looks like Michael Vick vs. Robert Griffin III on opening MNF game of season. OK with that.

And as many predicted, Kelly is backing Vick for the entire season, not just the first game or first few games.
Chip Kelly on selecting Michael Vick as his starter: “This is a one QB operation … Mike won’t be looking over his shoulder.”

I like the timing of the announcement from Kelly. While Foles wasn’t bad through the first two pre-season games, Vick was clearly the winner of the quarterback competition. Naming Vick as the quarterback now allows the Eagles to officially settle behind Vick as their leader on Sundays and for the remainder of the preseason.
