Michael Vick “The Dog Days Are Over”

Michael Vick may be entrenched in a quarterback battle with Nick Foles as we speak, but it wasn’t long ago that Vick exploded back onto the scene to to steal the starting quarterback job from Kevin Kolb.

Author Heath Bernstein examines the game against the Detroit Lions where Vick took the starting position in his poem “The Dog Days Are Over”, which he was kind enough to give exclusively to Section 215.

It’s a very interesting poem, that reminds you not only the pressure Vick faced to play over his head to overtake Kolb as the starting quarterback, but the public pressure he had to repair his image after a conviction on dogfighting charges.
