The Phillies are set to promote third-base prospect Cody Asche from the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs according to Yahoo! Sports Jeff Passan. And according to Passan that will likely mean an end to Michael Young’s career in Philadelphia sometime today.

No word on exactly what team is close acquiring Michael Young, but my guess is that it is either the Yankees or Red Sox, who have been the two teams most connected with Young.
As for Cody Asche, the 23 year-old is batting .295 with 15 homeruns at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, and has been red hot since the Triple-A All-Star break. Asche appears to be major league ready, which makes trading Michael Young a lot easier.
1:25 EST Update:Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal is reporting that Michael Young will only waive his full no-trade clause for a return to the Texas Rangers. This is different than what had been reported all week, that Young would waive his no-trade clause to go play for any contender. This eliminates teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Orioles from the Michael Young sweepstakes unless he has a change of heart.
