Could the Eagles sign Randy Moss?

The Eagles aren’t bringing Terrell Owens back to Philadelphia. DeSean Jackson could follow Jeremy Maclin and have a season ending injury today, God forbid, and the Eagles wouldn’t bring back Owens. But there is no saying that the Eagles couldn’t show interest in a guy like Randy Moss. And you can’t tell me the idea of Randy Moss’s athleticism in a Chip Kelly led offense doesn’t at least intrigue you.

I’ll be honest when Jeremy Maclin went down with a torn ACL, the names that first came to my mind about potential external replacements for Jeremy Maclin were guys like Brandon Lloyd and Austin Collie, not Moss and Owens. But when I first heard the name Randy Moss, I had to do some digging around to see if there was any chance. NFL.com’s Adam Rank gave me the answer I was anticipating.

The idea in bringing in Moss is intriguing, but he may never shed his bad-boy image. Moss may have kept relatively quiet in San Francisco in 2012, but he wasn’t in the NFL in 2011, after playing for three teams in 2010. If Bill Belichick  struggled to keep Moss from being a distraction just a few seasons ago, then maybe Chip Kelly and the Eagles will be scared off.

And according to Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, the Eagles have a few internal fixes planned for Maclin’s absence.
