Even though technically rookies only had to report to the Novacare Complex today for training camp, both Michael Vick and Nick Foles already have reported. That news doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as the two are set to be involved in one of the biggest training camp position battles in the NFL. And if you expected the ten-year NFL veteran Vick to be annoyed or even insulted by the fact that he has to compete to be the starting quarterback, you have it all wrong according to Eagles general manager Howie Roseman.

The fact that both Vick and Foles, and hell even Matt Barkley, are on board with the quarterback battle is a good sign for the entire team. When you have the players who play the most important position on the team fighting tooth and nail to start, it usually rubs off on the rest of the team. A quarterback battle, should actually bring out the competitor in every player on the roster who sees how hard Vick and Foles will be competing for the starting position. That should lead to a very productive first training camp for Chip Kelly.
