Sad news to report this afternoon. Phillies legend and current 97.5 the Fanatic host Darren “Dutch” Daulton has been diagnosed with two brain tumors. 97.5 the Fanatic released the following statement, on Dutch.

Darren Daulton has not been feeling well over the past two weeks. He went to the doctor who discovered two brain tumors and is scheduled for surgery early next week.  Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time. Of course we want to respect his privacy at a time like this, but if you would like to send him get well wishes you may do so at [email protected]

Dutch was the leader of the 1993 Phillies team that shocked the world to win the National League pennant. Dutch played for the Phillies from 1985 until being traded to the Marlins in the Summer of 1997. Dutch was inducted into the Phillies wall of fame in 2011, and currently hosts a Phillies pre-game show called “Talking Baseball with Dutch” on 97.5 the Fanatic.

I got the opportunity to meet Dutch in 2011 and he was a great guy and very welcoming to all fans who wanted to talk to him. Certainly the thoughts and prayers of everyone at Section 215, go out to Dutch.
